The progress of the implementation of the National project "Comfortable School" was reviewed at a meeting in the Government chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar.

 

On behalf of the Head of State, the National project "Comfortable School" is being implemented in the country, within the framework of which it is planned to build 369 schools of a new format for 740 thousand student places by 2026. Currently, 217 schools are actively being worked on.

 

Special attention is paid to the functionality and safety of the educational environment during the implementation of the national project. There are separate blocks for elementary and high school students. Among the requirements are to increase security measures through the introduction of modern technical means, create a barrier–free environment for children with special educational needs and provide schools with modern subject rooms.

 

When constructing schools, priority is given to domestic producers. The share of Kazakhstani-made materials in the national project is on average 70%, including construction materials up to 90%. Furniture products are exclusively of domestic production.

 

According to Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC Maulen Aymanbetov, the commissioning of the first facilities will be completed ahead of schedule. So, 21 comfortable schools will be opened in August, before the start of the school year. Further, according to the plans, 18 schools will be opened during September, 58 more in October and 112 schools by the end of the year.

 

In addition, 85 schools are being built in the country from various sources, of which 8 schools have already been commissioned and over 30 schools are planned to be built before the start of the new school year.  

Organizational issues related to the implementation of the 2nd stage of the national project were also discussed. In particular, it was instructed to start holding competitions as soon as possible to identify contractors for the construction of 152 comfortable schools with a commissioning period until the end of 2025.

 

During the meeting, Roman Sklyar instructed authorized government agencies and organizations to ensure maximum involvement of domestic manufacturers, strict control over the quality of construction and compliance with established commissioning plans.
